Investment focus

Techxas Ventures is an early-stage technology venture firm based in Austin, Texas. We focus on identifying and investing in early-stage companies with disruptive ideas where entrepreneurialism can lead to extraordinary wealth creation.

Technology companies

Techxas believes the next great technology companies will be multidisciplinary from the foundation up. We thus target investment opportunities across the tech sectors, including information, life, molecular and energy sciences.

Early-stage

Techxas desires to invest its capital at the early-stages of development, from startup through product development and into early sales growth. We typically make an initial investment in the seed, first or second financing round and participate in follow-on rounds as necessary. We have invested as little as $100,000 in an internally incubated "thesis" project to over $9 million in one company over multiple rounds.

Texas focus with a national reach

Techxas seeks to invest in best-in-class opportunities. Our geographic strategy to reach this goal is to typically be a lead investor in Texas, helping to build the business, and co-invest nationally with other like-minded investors who can leverage our value-added expertise and resources. Texas is the third-largest and fastest growing venture market with characteristics similar to Silicon Valley. The region is a U.S. tech hub growing in importance. It has a large base of information and life sciences activity, and is a nucleus for nanotechnology and energy development due to a unique confluence of world-class research and global industry in close proximity.

Active involvement

Team members have extensive experience and proven expertise commercializing big disruptive ideas that have created significant value. Techxas seeks to invest where it can leverage its unique experience, expertise, and networks to help create value.
